47% of Kerala population lives in Cities & Towns

Census 2011 reveals that 47.72 % of population in Kerala lives in Urban habitats (Cities & Towns). It was only 25.96 % in census 2001.

It is now for us to ask ourselves where are our villages. Kerala is witnessing rapid urbanization. Sadly, most of this is not planned. Waste management and disposal is the most serious issue in our hands today. Every municipality in Kerala is struggling to deal with waste.

Dynamics are such that we need a policy from the state government to address the challenge that is facing us. If we do not act now, tourism will be the first sector to take a hit. It will be an irreparable face loss for 'God's own country'.
