Apple A Day Properties - what next for customers?
News is trickling. Now every news daily is widely covering the issue. It's a harrowing time for all customers of Apple A Day Properties. What next for customers?
As far as the information that is available in the public domain, all customers can await a prolonged and unjust fight for their investment. First and foremost, all customers should come together and move collectively. Initiatives like this on Facebook is good. If you are a customer, make good use of this and reach out to other aggrieved customers and fight for the common cause. Bring on board more customers. Hire a lawyer and seek advice. Reach out to Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and seek help from the forum. Communicate with CREDAI (real estate industry association) and get them involved in your activities. Make them understand that the incident is a blotch on the entire industry and the developers association should support the cause of suffering customers. Communicate with CII and FICCI and seek their proactive support and help. Make use of consumer courts and general courts. File a Public Interest Litigation. Get the industries minister and chief minister comment on the issue and show their support and let them extend their help.
Most importantly, reach out to media fraternity continuously and never let the issue die down. Believe the ugly truth - every one other than customers would seek a slow death of the issue. Industry would want to move fast ahead and feign ignorance. Media do not want to continue the negative reports as that will affect more investments in the sector affecting their revenue through advertisements.
In this scenario, aggrieved customers need to fight the real estate industry and not just Apple A Day Properties. I am sure there are similar customers of other builders. Bring them together. Involve national political parties in that particular forum. Conduct public activities. Attend industry functions and raise your issues in a democratic way.
If you have to win this fight, fight the industry and not just Apple A Day Properties. When you fight the industry, everyone including the industry will want to see you winning.

ReplyDeleteAPPLE A DAY was synonymous with trust and credibility. I assume that the economic recession and rising inflation is taking its toll on private luxury builders. First of all there are a lot of governing norms to begin with in the construction sector in Keral as compared to in Mumbai, thane, pune, delhi, gazhiabd, lucknow, nagpur and other growing mtropolises. It has lot to do with burdensome taxes in the name of luxury imposed by state and central government bodies., First of all these should be shun away . Then a proper subsidy or waiver plans should be announced for residential plot/flat builders. EaRlier considered to be goldmine now the construction sector is turning into a death trap for the need of FDI from NRI,s and reduced margins. The cement, steel, glass, tileware, sanitryware etc all essential backbone of any type of constuction has skyrocketed beyond common man's expectations and reach. So the builders try to levy exorbitant sums at the cost of consumers in the shape of continuous funding in the name of completion in phases. All this can be checked if the corporation of cochin takes a inflexible stand on this issues like making a consumer,s body and allowing direct participation with builder and the final consumer.Plus a intermittent vigil on prices.
ReplyDeleteThis will lead to good housing schemes available to public at large and enhance the value of construction sector.Peoples, trust in the industry needs to be reinvented.....
